
Context
The client provides income protection for a large number of participants. The automation branch of this organization is responsible for the innovation, architecture, and development of the rollout of the IT. The client was confronted with a very extensive modernization course that had the objective of changing and reintegrating the whole environment.
Approach
The extent and nature of the development activities led the client to choose to offshore parts of the development to India. In addition, a number of specific functionalities were outsourced to local players on the Dutch market. The innovative interpretation of the modernization was realized internally at the client using RAD (Agile Methods). The total completion time was estimated as a period of about two years. During this period, there was a strong need to monitor the cost of the different software releases efficiently and in a controlled and clear way.
