IT Business Alignment
Relate the system software to the company processes!
Context
The client was a pension company with more than 500 000 participants. The automation branch of this organization is responsible for the innovation, architecture, and development of the rollout of the IT. During the completion of a modernization project, the client also asked us to provide an alignment of the application with the business processes.
Approach
In practice, it became apparent that, if we were to carry this out in the traditional way, it would take at least two person-years, which was not a preference. We therefore opted to use the Omnext SaaS Use Case Editor (UCE).
Result
By using the Omnext SaaS Use Case Editor (UCE), the Use Cases of the systems concerned could be reconstructed in about two minutes per Function Point. The existing application functions could then easily be related to the accompanying business processes.
