Context
The customer is an end‐to‐end service provider for the European mortgage market. The customer supports internationally over thirty-five mortgage suppliers with the handling of mortgage portfolios.
The Mortgage System handles over one million mortgage loans.
Challenge
The customer has computerized its processes using a very large software system. This system is mostly custom-made and built on several development platforms. This system is in a continuing development process. New components are released six times a year. Reliable data (for example, size, quality, consistency, and so on, of the releases) is necessary in order to compare these releases.
Solution
With Source2VALUE Omnext provides the customer with information about the complexity of the different components that have been altered. This makes it possible to map how much code and how many components, tables, and table fields are added in a release. More attention can then be paid to the more complex components during code reviewing and testing. Source2VALUE also finds undesirable code (such as global variables and deep nesting). This means that undesirable code is reduced.
