Context
The customer administers the compulsory pension scheme for the healthcare and social work sector of the Dutch economy. With two million participants, it is the second largest such fund in the Netherlands and has a total pension capital of approximately € 82 billion. The IT department is responsible for innovation, architecture, and developing and deploying IT.
Challenge
The customer offshored the development of a number of large software systems to India. Development was to take place over the course of a year. During this period there was a strong need for a cost-efficient, controlled, and full technical comparison of the different software releases delivered.
Solution
Omnext Source2VALUE enabled the customer to assess the releases under favorable conditions during this whole offshoring period. An automatic assessment was carried out of a large number of aspects (complexity, maintainability, standards and guidelines, clone detection, and so on). Moreover, the releases were automatically compared during the whole period and the participating parties received feedback about this.
This allowed the customer to receive delivery of an end-product conforming to the initial technical specifications.
